Dowel Cradle

Dowel cradles are an innovative and time-saving load transfer system for construction joints in large warehouse floors and pavements. The wire cradle acts as both a chair and spacer to ensure all the dowels are aligned and maintained at the correct height and spacing during the pouring of a slab. The cradles can simply be positioned at the desired joint location prior to pouring. Once the slab has been poured, a saw cut can be installed over the location of the dowel cradle to form a control joint. Thanks to the preinstalled dowel cradle, the dowels provide load transfer as a load passes over the control joint.
Most dowel cradles come with shrink-wrapped plate dowels which enable expansion and contraction throughout the joint whilst minimizing vertical movement and deflection.
