250mm x 25m Adhesive Backed Expansion Joint
$66.00
250mm adhesive expansion joint is a closed-cell foam jointing for creating an expansion void in movement joints. The adhesive back makes it easy to adhere joint to walls or slab ends reducing the need for additional fasteners. The expansion joint is zipped at 10mm meaning that once the concrete has been poured, the top 10mm can be torn off leaving a void for joint sealant.

FAQs
What are the types of expansion foam?
Expanding foam for concrete is available in two main varieties, open-cell and closed-cell. Open-cell expanding foam is softer and offers more flexibility and pliability for use in more intricate applications. Conversely, closed-cell expanding foam is a denser material, offering more rigidity, better insulation and increased resistance to moisture when in use.
Allcon stocks both closed-cell and open-cell concrete expanding foam, allowing you to choose the option that best suits your project.
Does expansion foam provide structural support?
Expansion foam does not provide structural support. While it can fill gaps and voids by adding rigidity and stability, especially if you use a closed-cell expansion foam, it should not be used as a substitute for concrete itself, or any other construction material.
Is expansion foam waterproof?
While concrete expansion foam is water resistant, it is not completely waterproof. This means that the foam can withstand some exposure to moisture, however prolonged contact with water may affect the integrity of the foam. If your project requires complete protection from moisture, consider applying a waterproof sealant once the expansion foam has cured. This will create a perfectly watertight seal without compromising the expansion foam.
Is expansion foam safe to use?
Expansion foam is safe to use when used as per the manufacturer’s directions. Wear any necessary protective clothing, such as gloves, goggles and a mask, and ensure the working area is well ventilated to prevent fume inhalation.
Can expansion foam be painted or sanded?
Yes, concrete expansion foam can be sanded over and then painted to provide a uniform finish. Before beginning the sanding process, ensure the concrete foam has fully cured to prevent issues with the finish.
