Ensuring subsoil is well-drained improves the stability of the surrounding soil by controlling the levels of groundwater. A buildup of groundwater creates hydrostatic pressure which could cause the structure causing it to fail. There are many different types of subsoil drainage including; strip drain, sheet drain and slotted agi.
