As a load travels over a construction joint, the joint will naturally deflect under load. Dowel bars help transfer the load between pavements, preventing deflection. Dowel bars are typically debonded at one end allowing for the joint to expand and contract without providing vertical or horizontal movement. They are available in a range of sizes and finishes in both round and square material.
