Hydrochloric Acid

Allcon supplies hydrochloric acid for concrete preparation and cleaning applications. Acid etching effectively opens concrete pores for better adhesion of sealants and coatings; however, stubborn stains or oil may require a specialised degreaser or stain remover.

Hydrochloric acid is commonly used to prepare masonry surfaces prior to the application of sealants or paints. Hydrochloric acid etches the surface opening the pores of the substrate to accept subsequent coatings. It is also ideal for cleaning exposed aggregate after it has been washed to help clean residual slurry off the surface creating a better exposure.
