Form Ply & Timbers

Form ply is a reusable construction material. After using one side of the timber for a job, it can be turned around and used again on the reverse side. This ability makes form ply a cost-effective construction material when compared to regular plywood or other formwork products. 

Not in any meaningful way. The smooth phenolic film that coats formwork timber resists bond-up, so once the slab has cured, the sheets strip clean with minimal patching. A light application of release agent will help preserve the face and maximise reuses.

Painting phenolic-coated formply is generally not recommended because most coatings struggle to grip the non-porous surface. If a finish is essential, you would need to scuff the sheen lightly and use a high-adhesion primer, but this removes the board’s protective layer and shortens its service life.
