FAQs
Which is better: curing compound or water curing?
Water curing works, yet it means rewetting the slab every few hours for days, time and labour most crews cannot spare. One spray of curing compound forms a moisture‑locking film that keeps hydration on track without the hoses. It works best on big pours or remote sites where traditional water curing just is not practical.
What is the difference between concrete sealer and curing compound?
Apply a spray‑on curing compound the moment the trowels come off. That single coat traps mixed water so the concrete can reach full strength. Once the curing window closes, roll on a sealer to guard the surface from water, stains and wear. A handful of dual‑purpose products exist, but timing and performance still rule which option works best.
Which curing compound is best?
The best curing compound depends on the project. Allcon carries water-based, hydrocarbon and acrylic options to suit aesthetic, performance or removal requirements. Contact our technical team to discuss which formulation meets your site specs and timeline.
How long does curing compound last?
Curing compounds typically break down over 7–30 days, depending on exposure and traffic. Some acrylic-based formulations may remain longer if not removed. Always check product data sheets for breakdown timelines and compatibility with subsequent coatings or toppings.
How quickly can Allcon dispatch?
Allcon offers same-day dispatch for orders placed before cut-off times in major metro areas, with fast Australia-wide delivery. Our call-and-collect option allows you to pick up curing agents for concrete directly from our Sydney and Melbourne locations.
