Plate Dowels

Plate dowels are used in construction joints to provide load transfer and minimize joint deflection. The plastic sleeve is fixed to formwork prior to pouring. Once the formwork has been stripped, the plate dowel can be inserted into the sleeve and the second pour can commence. Due to the wide surface area of a plate dowel, they provide a much greater load transfer than a standard dowel bar.
